     In 1985, a few friends and I established a school garden in Somerset, California. Since moving to the Yuba City area in 1989, I have iniated two creative school gardens projects. In 1997, I received a commission from the California Department of Education to produce a large format wall poste and draft the vision statement promoting, A Garden in Every School.

     My garden work has appeared in Organic Gardening, National Gardening, Sunset Magazine, and Garden Design. The spring 97 issue of Coffee Journal featured an article I wrote and photographed about organic and bio-dynamic coffee grown on the ‘big island’ of Hawai’i.

     My photography also helped illustrate two table top garden books: A Vineyard Garden, Molly Chappellet, Viking Studio Press, 1991. Gardens of the wine Country, Molly Chappellet and Richard Tracy, Chronicle Books, 1998.

     I am located in northern California in the center of a vast agricultural area. My spirit soars when I explore gardens and farmsthat are full of biodiversity and tended by passionate people using organic or biodynamic practices.
